No one ever said that Riviera does things halfway, and this new 585 SUV is another example of the builder’s over-the-top methodology.  She’s a stunning yacht both inside and out and leaves little to be desired.  Just like the land-based SUV, this 585 is designed as a do-it-all yacht, but she seems to also master all tasks.  

Exterior gatherings start at the expansive cockpit with high bulwarks for safety.  Ahead is the raised mezzanine level providing an outdoor venue while still being protected by the extended bimini overhead, and even optional side protection.  This is a wonderful al-fresco area to one side and a convertible sofa to the other.  At the bow, there’s even more enjoyment to be had, either under the sun or the stars, in the huge lounge area that is also able to be converted into sunpads and dining.  

Move inside through the large sliding glass door and open up the adjoining glass window to blend the inside with the outside.  The galley is aft with the salon just ahead and both highlight the remarkable level of fit and finish the Riviera brand is so well known for.  

Down below, there are three luxurious staterooms, including a full-beam master, three heads and even a separate space that can be made into either a utility room or a crew space.  

All this in a bluewater performance hull that must be experienced to believe. It’s all part of the Riviera difference that makes this yacht truly one that not only shines above the competition, but it also even outdoes Riviera’s previous models.  And to be frank, we expected nothing less.
